Vintage Sheet Music Holly Tags

I made these for my Friend Nancy. She has a gift shop called Holly Hut.

The sentiments are from Papertrey Ink's Happiest of Holidays stamps set - the perfect size for tags. The holly leaves were cut with PTI's Holiday Button Bits dies.
I'm adding these to Paper Craft Magazine's December gallery challenge - the challenge is to make projects for the holidays.

Best Wishes

Ellen Hutson's Classroom has some fun WCMD challenges going on and there is still time to submit for a chance at winning
 a great prize.

I decided to make a card based on Chari Moss' Pinterest Challenge
featuring this beautiful inspiration photo.

I was most inspired by the neutral leaves on the bedspread, the cascading flowers and the wood wall. The stamped image is Impression Obsession. I left the dangling leaves cream and my 11-year old son looked at it and said "are you leaving those leaves like that?" I showed him the inspiration photo and explained my thinking and he wasn't buying it. When he left the room I decided to add some glitter to those leaves. *grin*. I used PTI's woodgrain impression plate on the kraft CS. The bottom edge of the focal image was made by cutting a piece from a PTI's banner borders die.
Thanks for stopping by, and if you are entering Ellen's contest good luck!

Noel

It's time for  Papertrey Ink's September Blog Hop.

This month it is all about fabric and packaging.

I love all of these samples.
I was inspired to get out some Christmas Fabric for my project.

Do you ever buy something because you just love it but have no clue what you will do with it? That was me when I saw this Christmas Toile fabric. I decided to make a gift bag by adhering this fabric to Heat & Bond then die cutting with the Front & Center #2 die. I made a box using Rustic Cream CS and my MS Scoreboard. The box is sandwiched between the die cuts. I also backed the die cuts with CS.

I made a coordinating tag using Vintage Ornaments and Holiday Tags 2008.
Thanks so much for looking at my project today. What a fun challenge this is.

Hello

This card is for the Focal Point Challenge in The Moxie Fab World. Cath is featuring several contests celebrating the newly released Card Designs Handbook publication.

I was inspired to use something I have had tucked away for a couple of years: a vintage number plate from a rotary telephone. I bought two of them not knowing what I would do with them. I just couldn't pass them up. I decided to use one as a focal point for this card. Between the "1" and "0" is a notch in the metal where I tied several pieces of died seam binding. I used the Background Basics Farm & Barn stamp and Versa Magic Pink Grapefruit ink to give the MFT die cut a wood grain look. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Heart-2-Heart #4 stamp set. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye Howdy Doody 6 x 6 pad.
Thanks for stopping by today:)

Fabric Die Cuts

Oh it's been so long since I have created anything.  All of my days off this summer have been spent hiking, biking, rafting, swimming, and  playing. I have done some gardening, and recently hung a new chandelier on our deck to spruce up our outdoor dining:)
But Monday I watched Melissa's Make it Monday video and knew I wanted to make a card using fabric dies.

I used Papertrey Ink's Block Alphabet dies, Think Big Favorites #12 stamp set and some Moda fabric. I inked only the "birthday" part of the sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by - enjoy the rest of your summer!

Recent Publications

This is a Mother's Day ensemble that was published in the May/June issue of Paper Crafts magazine.

and this pencil set is published in the July/August issue of Paper Crafts magazine.

I found these pencils in that 'bin' area of Michael's and instantly fell in love with them. I recently found more with the floral pattern that have a green background.

Farm Chicks

Last weekend was the Farm Chicks Show in Spokane.
It's hard to find the words to describe this wonderful show.
It's magical. I hope each and every one of you get to experience it some day.
In the meantime, I made a short video of my favorite vendor spaces and some of my Favorite Finds.
As long as Serena continues to do the Farm Chicks Show
I will continue to go!

 I *heart* Farm Chicks.

Wishing you the happiest of birthdays

This card is for the

I was inspired to try a technique that I've been thinking about for months - using an impression plate and ink to  create a
letterpress look.

I love how the pattern turned out. With embossing folders the look is more defined and uniform. But with the impression plate the look is more distressed and slightly shabby. That ink is one of the new Fresh Ink colors - Silver Lilac.
The lacy border is a Memory Box die. The Damask Impression Plate is Papertrey Ink. The sentiment is from PTI's Celebrations stamp set.
Thanks for the visit. Have a great week:)

Best Wishes

I am so happy to be joining the fun in
this week. This time of year I spend a lot of time outside in the garden and yard getting things spruced up. It felt so good to spend some time in my craft room today.

Oh my is this photo gorgeous or what. The theme this week is Garden Party and this little image just screams shabby cottage to me. So sweet.

For this card I was trying to get that worn distressed wood look. I die cut the Memory Box Madison Window and Shutters with PTI Vintage Cream CS and then added Ranger Juniper and Pumice Stone distress inks using a sponge. The patterned paper inside the window (that I referred to as my wallpaper when I was showing it to my little guy) is My Mind's Eye. My roses took on an orangy hue in the photo but they are pink IRL.

Thanks for stopping by:)

Adhesive Ribbon

Have you tried it? I bought several types of this adhesive ribbons at Jo Ann's. It's a fun twist on adding trim to your projects.

I made these simple tags for my friend's daughters to attach to birthday presents. I used Papertrey Ink's Tag   Sale #1 die and patterned paper. I attached the adhesive ribbon for a fun detail.
The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Trendy Tree Tops set.

And here is the tool I use to attach the trim.

It's a miniature iron. Once it's hot it only takes a few seconds for the glue to melt.

Have a great week:)

Home Sweet Home

Flourishes is getting ready to release three new sets and to gear up for that they are having a fun challenge called

Here is the inspiration picture I took in my living room:

The inspiration is the collection of Hull vases. My mom recently said "I know you really like those, and your Aunt Eva had a collection of them too. They're not my thing but they look nice". Ha ha. I'm not sure exactly why I like them so much but I do - it's probably the creamy pastel colors and shapes that appeal to me.

I used Flourishes Vintage Wallpaper, Sweet Violets and Chairs for You stamp sets. I love the vintage feel of the wallpaper background. The image on the shelf die is from Sweet Violets and the vase with flowers is from Chairs for You.

Stop in at the Flourishes blog and look at other entries for this challenge. It is so fun to see what people have picked for inspiration from their own homes.

Thanks so much for visiting today.

Hello You

I haven't hopped in a while.
This month's inspiration photo really made me want to dig into my stash of patterned papers and create something.

How is this for a beautiful bunch of fabric? Kind of makes me want to quilt.
And I'm no quilter.

I used some MME paper, Polka Dot Basics and the fun new Trendy Tree Tops stamps and dies. This is one adorable set.
I also made a matching envelope using the envelope liner die. Such an easy way to dress up an envelope. I glittered the clouds and placed a small piece of glittered CS behind the bird.

Thanks for visiting:)

You are a Blessing to Me

Well how beautiful is this?

This is our inspiration photo for Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger this week. I was inspired to create a card using watercolor paints, which I haven't done in a very long time.

I couldn't resist:)

This butterfly die I discovered on Betsy Veldman's blog when she made a set of small note cards with it. I instantly loved it. It is a Quickutz die that includes both the solid butterfly and the one with the circle cutouts. I cut them from watercolor paper and then painted with four different colors. I cut off the paper antennas and added the flower stamens in their place.
The leaves were cut with PTI's Turning a New Leaf die and I colored those with Distress Inks - Tattered Straw and Old Paper. The sentiment is PTI's Signature Greetings.
This was a fun card to make. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Wish Big

This is for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday. And I got it done on Monday. Hooray.
When I saw Betsy's cards I knew I wanted to try this - so fun.

The floral spray was made with Beautiful Blooms. I used the Tag #1 die to cut some yellow felt. That little yellow circle you see under the pearls is the hole part of the die, the part we usually toss. And that sentiment is from a new favorite set, Script Sentiments.
I'm also sending this over to the Create: blog for their current request for Spring Cards. Thanks so much for stopping by.

I used the Flourishes set Child's Play. I love the silhouette images in this set.
Patterned papers are Crate Paper's Pretty Party.

Easter Greetings

Heartwarming Vintage is having a Linky Party!

I have quite the stash of Crafty Secrets clear art stamps and other vintage-inspired products. So I just had to get busy and get something made.

I used 2 Crafty Secrets sets for my card today: Happy Easter and Artsy Banners. Artsy banners is one of my favorite sets - so many background building possibilities with this set. I used the text image to create the red patterned paper. The focal image and sentiment are from the Happy Easter set. I glittered the bunny and popped it up on pop dots.
Patterned papers are On the Bright Side by My Mind's Eye. The frame paper is October Afternoon.
I'm also adding this to the Create blog's current challenge asking for Easter cards:)
Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to stop by Heartwarming Vintage to see more projects for this fun challenge.

Simply Jane Teacher Thank You Cards

I made 7 of these last night for the group of educators that met with me yesterday to discuss Peyton's progress.

I am just so thankful for these people and the positive impact they have on little lives.

And I can't get enough of the Simply Jane stamp set:) On the inside I used the smaller of the two Thank You images that came in our free gift set from Papertrey Ink.

Spring Birthday Card

This week Papertrey Ink's MIM idea is too fun to pass up. It's all about adding computer-generated print to your die cuts. I use the computer for things like place cardholders but have never tried fitting them into a die cut.

I printed the 'SPRING 2012' on to Aqua Mist paper and then cut the Seed Packet frame out. I then stamped the image around it. That image in the opening is from Made by Janet. It's actually an egg shape that I printed and trimmed to fit behind the opening.
See that sweet doily under the card? That is from my pen pal Jen. Love that.
Thanks for stopping by:)
