If friends were flowers...

I finally had time to make a card for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday.
This week the idea is to use scor tape to add glitter to a project.
This card is 100% Papertrey Ink. I used the  Beautiful Blooms dies, Library Ledger pp, the Edgers #1 dies, and the new button dies. For the glitter strips I used 1/8" Scor Tape and colored Art Glitter. I also placed scor tape behind the button holes so I could add glitter and have it show on the front of the buttons.  The sentiment is from Green Thumb.

Wishing you Peace

I have another card for the Moxie Fab World Appearance of Cameos challenge.
A couple months ago I bought a bunch of cameos so I can add them to cards. I love this one with the sweet little bird.

The black Savvystamp frame was stamped onto Melon Berry CS and carefully cut inside and out. I layered it over a piece of Aqua Mist CS. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Wishing You set.

Moxie Fab World - The Appearance of Cameos - Challenge

I knew I'd be up for this one since I adore silhouettes and cameos. The fascination started when I moved into my first place and my mom game me a vintage silhouette of hers that I had always admired.
I've been getting ot know my Cricut Create a little better over the past couple weeks and my favorite cartridge is A Child's Story. It's full of cameos and silhouette images.
The apple and girl's head are 2 separate cuts so you can mix and match your papers. Here's a trick for adhering the 2 images together. Cut a 1 3/4" circle of CS and adhere the head to that. Then add thin scor tape onto the CS surrounding the head and adhere that to the backside of the cut out apple.
All the patterned paper is October Afternoon, sentiment and text impression plate are Papertrey Ink.

Here are sillhouettes we had cut at Disneyland in 2005.

And here is one of Peyton cut this past December.

Go-to Sentiment Card

The fun over at Papertrey Ink's Anniversary Celebration continues. The new challenge called Make it Monday has been launched and the first challenge is to make a card using multiple sentiments.

This was a super fun card to make. I decided to make a congratulations card and was amazed at how many different sentiments I had. I really wanted three different curly type fonts and I found them in Signature Greetings, Delightful Dahlia and Star Prints. The other sentiments are from Big & Bold Wishes and Say it with Style.
I really wanted the star to be black felt but I don't have the star dies. See? That's why we keep buying stuff. Just when you think you don't possibly need one more die, there you are needing that star die.
Fine Linen has become a new favorite neutral for me and I love it paired with pink.

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Festivities

There is one ginormous giveaway going on over at Papertrey Ink. I'm linking one of my favorite PTI cards as an entry to this great giveaway:

This was published in Paper Crafts magazine. I added fabric-covered buttons to the vine from Everyday Button Bits. I have all the button sets and really enjoy them.

Always

Moxie Fab World is having a series of Color Inspiration Challenges and this card is for the Metallics color combination.
Trying to show the pretty shimmer with this close up - Papertrey Ink's White Shimmer Paper is so pretty.
And so is the pink shimmer paper!

This image is from Crafty Secret's Cherish set, embossed with gold filigree EP. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Heart Prints set. I'm just under the gun but it's such a pretty color combination I was determined to get a card done!

Craft Kits for 2 special girls

ETA: These gifts were from 2 kids, my son and my neice, so that's why there is so much stuff in each kit.
My good friend's daughters' combined birthday party is tomorrow. Morgan is 7 and Madison is10. When I asked what they would like she said "they really like to color and want craft stuff", I decided to make them each a craft kit.
I found the totes at JoAnn's on clearance for $4.50. I got them each 1 wood stamp and a little set of clear stamps and blocks, some punches, stickers, coloroed pencils and markers.
I made letters with the Cricut to personalize the totes.
I die cut each girl 10 panels and stamped them with images they can color. Each one will also get a set of 8 cards with envelopes and a glue stick. They can glue the panels to the card fronts and have a card to send off. I also put in some 6x6 pp for using the punches. Each girl has a small baggie with custom return address labels with just first names and an image that reminds me of them.
This is why I was so glad to have found that post on PTI about the marker sale last Tuesday, and why I waited 30 minutes for the staff at Staples to figure out the coupon code.
Looking forward to the party tomorrow.
