Homespun Fall

Welcome to week #86 in The Shabby Tea Room! This week Debbie is our host and she asked that we create a card/project inspired by the inspirtaion photo with a fall scene. And here is the pretty image.

 And here is my card:

For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Fall Elegence and added glitter to the pumpkins. The CS is Smokey Shadow. That luscious seam binding you see is from our sponsor this week, Simple Treasures. I used Ambrosia Cantalope and Cake Crumbs Shabby Seam Bindings on this card. This week's lucky winner will get 15 yards of seam binding!

Be sure to check out the Simple Treasures store to see all of the beautiful colors this shabby seam binding comes in. I'm partial to the Mint Green.

And click on over the Shabby Girls' blogs to see the wonderful projects they have created this week.

Have a great week!

miss you

This card is for Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday challenge. Maki is the host this time and she challenges us to use either leaf or tree images, and not to use flowers as the focal point.

I used one of my all time favorite stamp sets, Swing Set, and colored the tree with four different colors of shimmery paint, trying to make it look like the 'leaves' are changing colors. It is pure coincidence that the coloring matches the dyed silk ribbon - love it when that happens!

This close up is to show the shimmer.

My friend Rosemary is the current guest designer on the Flourishes blog. It's been very fun to see her beautiful cards here this past month.
Have a great weekend.

Hello Friend

I'm so happy to be able to play along in the Textured to Perfection challenge going on in The Moxie Fab World. Here are Cath's instructions:

Create a paper crafted project (card, gift bag, tag, layout, home decor item, mini-book cover, etc.) that incorporates texture in an innovative way.

I've been wanting to make some pink burlap leaves and this challenge was the perfect reason to get it done. I mixed some pink acrylic paint with water in a 16 oz plastic cup, rolled up the cream burlap and soaked it for an hour or so. Then I laid it out to dry overnight. I adhered it to some Sweet Blush CS {Papertrey Ink} then cut the leaves with PTI's Falling Leaves dies. I then stamped the veins with brown ink. The card base was embossed with PTI's Damask impression plate. I added sweet blush ink to the raised areas. The woodgrain piece was stamped with Hero Arts' woodgrain stamp and all edges were inked with distress ink.
The sentiment and tag are PTI's Tiny Tags - I love this set and use it a lot! I added a little of the pink burlap behind the tiny heart opening.

It was so refreshing to get some 'pink' out after making so many fall-colored cards. Thanks so much for your visit today.

The Shabby Tea Room Week #84

Welcome to another Autumn-inspired challenge this week in
The Shabby Tea RoomI am thrilled to be your host this week! Here is our inspiration photo.

Please create a card or project using the colors in the inspiration photo and one dry embossed element. You can use an embossing folder, an impression plate or even a brass stencil and stylus. {I have quite a stash of the old brass stencils and still enjoy embossing the old fashioned way at times!}

I started with MME paper called So Sophie from the Open Your Heart collection. I stamped 2 different leaves from Papertrey Ink's Falling Leaves stamp set in Ranger's Wild Honey and PTI Summer Sunrise inks. The PTI Mat Stack 4 is embossed with their woodgrain impression plate. The sentiment, from PTI's Fall Elegence set, is stamped onto a Mat Stack 2 die.
The cluster of flowers are Prima Flowers in Guillian Cider from Classy Cards 'n Such.

Classy Cards 'n Such is our sponsor this week and our winner will receive a $15.00 Gift Certificate to this wonderful online shop! There are so many great items for card makers. You will find stamps, dies/embossing folders and lots of beautiful embellishments.
If you click on the above image you can visit the Classy Cards 'n Such Blog.
I am looking forward to seeing what you create this week. Thanks so much for stopping by - and be sure to see what the other Shabby Girls have come up with for this week's Shabby Tea Room challenge.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday

This week the challenge for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday is to make either a card with an ornament or an ornament.

I used a Spellbinders Doily die and a Papertrey Ink Snowflake Die to make the shape of this ornament. The snowflake die was too small for the image so I cut the points off and individually attached them around the doily die. I stamped the Wedded Bliss image and surrounded it with a couple different types of glitter. The holly leaves are also a Papertrey Ink die. I decided to leave the sentiment off since the image says it all:)
My friend Rosemary is a guest designer for the month of October on the Flourishes blog. Many, many years ago whenever I started giving her  handmade cards she would ooh and aah and ask me "how I did you do that?"Just look at her now! Guest designer and avid paper crafter. It's been fun to share this hobby with her and compare notes:)
I love all of the Flourishes silhouette images and look forward to seeing new ones. Have a great week!

Hello and welcome to this week's Shabby Tea Room challenge. This week Sheri is our host and she has chosen this beautiful inspiration photo:

For my card I used the Digi My World image Manequin Card. I printed the image onto 2 different patterned papers. I trimmed the frame then paper pieced the dress with Cosmo Cricket paper. I made the flowers with a Spellbinders die and many layers of colored vintage typing paper spritzed with Glimmer Mist.

The Shabby Tea Room Week #82

Hello Shabby Tea Room friends. I hope you are all enjoying the Fall season so far. This week Melissa is our host and this is her very pretty Fall inspirtation photo. She asks that we create a card/project with a Fall theme.

One of my favorite things about fall is getting the candles back out and making the house smell pretty.
Our sponsor this week is
The winner of this weeks challenge gets to pick out 5 digital images!

I used the Robyn's Fetish digital Scarecrow & Pumpkins image. I love the little birds hanging out with the scarecrow. For my card I stacked two picket fences {Papertrey Ink die} and placed the rails accross the middle to hide the place where they join. The burlap leaves were cut with Papertrey Ink's Turning a New Leaf die.
I'm looking forward to seeing your take on this week's challenge.
For more Fall inspiration check out the other Shabby Girls' pretty cards.

Hi

The Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger inspiration photo this week has so many of my favorite things in it.

I had so much fun making a card for this week's trigger
 on World Card Making Day!

The pennants, doily and button card were cut with Papertrey Ink dies. Those floral glass buttons are some favorites from my jar of old buttons. I so love them!
